Which controls does your Culligan have?

Pick the family. Each control is marked as documented for the owner, set by the dealer at installation, or not documented in that guide at all.

Four keypads, not one

Before any setting makes sense you need to know which control you are standing in front of. These descriptions come from each family’s own Menu Navigation section.

The one family that publishes defaults

Of the eight guides, the Aquasential Select Plus and Select guide is the one that prints a settings table with ranges and defaults:

Those two defaults belong to that family. They are printed here with the family attached precisely so they are not mistaken for a Culligan-wide value — no other guide read for this page publishes them, and we did not find any Culligan document that publishes a cross-family settings list.

The numbers the dealer sets, and why we cannot compute them

The Aquasential Smart HE guide states that the Salt Economizer is set at the time of installation and determines salt usage from water hardness, the number of people in the household and water usage.

That is the documented reason this site will not hand you a salt dosage figure for a Culligan. The manufacturer assigns it at installation from data about your specific installation. A number derived from a city, a household size and a hardness reading would be our invention dressed up as a manufacturer setting — and it would be the sort of thing this site exists to avoid.

The same reasoning applies to capacity. Where a family’s guide exposes a value to the owner, the selector above says so; where it routes the value to the dealer, it says that instead.

What actually triggers a regeneration differs too

The Select Plus and Select guide lists five conditions: the flow meter recording a set number of gallons; the preset time once days without regeneration equal the Timeclock Backup setting; the preset time after the bottom-right keypad button is pressed once; immediately when that button is held for three seconds; and immediately when power has been off more than three hours and the time has been restored.

The Aquasential Advantage guide lists six, adding named Regen Tonight and Regen Now selections and a Day-of-Week regeneration setting the Select Plus list does not contain. Same manufacturer, different answer to “how do I make it regenerate”.

On the Smart HE, which mode the unit is in changes what a delayed regeneration even means. Its guide documents Water Meter, Aqua-Sensor, Predict and Pre-Rinse modes — and in Predict mode the control deliberately waits another 24 hours when average daily use is below the reserve. A unit doing that is working as designed, not failing.

Two warnings that only apply to one family each

And on the Grey HE, the guide sends you to the Culligan Connect app to update the date or time. The Smart HE guide does not say this in its equivalent section, which is a small but concrete illustration of why one family’s procedure should not be followed on another.
