Use the model number from the unit—not its color or cabinet shape—to find the correct
document. SoftenerCheck links to manufacturer-hosted owner, programming, and support manuals
and labels the control family when it is known.
27 documents across 9 brands, every one on a domain the
manufacturer owns. All were fetched and their model scope read on September 3, 2026. We do not host copies of anyone's manual.

Kenmore routes by the first seven digits of the serial number. Use the Kenmore site for a Kenmore unit even though the layout resembles other brands’ support sites.
Clack states on the cover that this document is for OEM use only and is not the complete system manual. A Clack valve is fitted to a system someone else built, so tank size, resin volume and programme come from that system builder, not from Clack.

Includes the blending valve, which deliberately mixes hard water into the softened output and can explain a hard test result on a working unit.
No document matches that search. Try the model number alone, or clear the brand filter. If your
model is not listed here, use the manufacturer's own support index rather than an unofficial
copy — an unrelated manual is worse than no manual.
Finding your model number
The model number is what determines which document applies. Cabinet colour, tank shape and
retailer name do not.
On many cabinet softeners the serial number is printed on the inside rim of the
tank, under the salt lid hinges. Whirlpool and Kenmore both route their support
articles by the first seven digits of that serial number.
On a two-tank system the label is usually on the control valve head or on the resin tank
itself.
Whirlpool controls also report a model code in their diagnostic display — L30P for a WHES30,
L33P for a WHES33 — which is a useful cross-check that the unit is configured as the model
it appears to be.
If the unit was installed by a dealer under their own brand, the control valve may carry a
different manufacturer's name than the cabinet. The valve is what you programme, so the valve
manufacturer's document is usually the one you need.
How these links are chosen
Manufacturer domains only. Every link goes to a host the brand operates. No
aggregator sites, no rehosted PDFs, no scanned copies of uncertain provenance.
Scope comes from the document. A manual is only listed as covering a model
when the document itself, or the manufacturer's own index entry, names that model. We never
infer coverage from a similar-looking model number.
Format is labelled. PDF links are marked so a tap on a phone is not a
surprise download.
Links are tested on every build. An automated check verifies each URL is
still reachable, and the checked date shown against each entry is the date it was last
confirmed by hand.
We record when a link moves. Manufacturers reorganise their sites. When a
document moves, we find its replacement within the same official domain, verify it still
covers the same models, and note the substitution on the sources page.
